Having felt the call of God to be in the full-time ministry at the age of seven, Pastor Jerry began teaching Sunday School as a teenager at Immanuel Baptist Church, Pace, Florida. Jerry started preaching at the age of 16 when he and several friends, who formed a gospel band, traveled around the panhandle of Florida preaching youth revivals. He has served in various ministry positions since then; including, ministering at three different nursing homes every Sunday and serving as a Youth Pastor in Southport, Florida. He then became a senior pastor for the next three years before being elected as State Youth Director for the West Florida District of the Assembly of God.
In 1985, Jerry moved to Georgia pastoring in Adel and Stockbridge, where he served for 22 years.
Jerry formally prepared for ministry through the Berean School of the Bible, Gulf Coast Seminary and Southeastern University, Lakeland, Florida. Today he has degrees in theology, Bible, and psychology. His greatest passion is to know God and to make Him and His ways known, loved, embraced and lived.
On January 2, 2013, a few hungry souls gathered for Bible study at the "Old Bargain Barn" in Jasper, Georgia. We soon assumed the name Gospel Outreach Church, or GO Church. January 11, 2014, one week after our first anniversary, the leased property burned to the ground. During the following year, GO Church met at the Pickens County Recreation Center. On February 8, 2015, GO Church held its first meeting in the current facility, having been miraculously able to purchase the property from a bank that held the deed to it.
Jerry ministers with and is married to his amazing wife Nancy. They have a son, Brock, married to Tiffany and they have three boys. Their daughter Lauren has been an indispensable part of their life and ministry at GO Church.
